With the upcoming launch of Apple's Vision Pro virtual and augmented reality headset, their growing partnership with Disney signals exciting possibilities for VR content creation.

Apple and Disney have collaborated extensively across both companies' platforms. Disney was one of the first content partners for Apple TV+ streaming, while Apple devices and software have long supported Disney+ and other streaming services.

Industry experts believe this expanded partnership will extend into VR content for Apple's Vision Pro headset. Disney already has extensive experience with AR/VR, having created virtual reality shorts and theme park experiences based on their major franchises.

Now with Apple's headset poised for release, Disney has the perfect avenue to turn their characters and worlds into immersive VR movies, shows and gaming experiences. For example, Disney could produce VR animated films that make audiences feel like they're inside an Pixar or Marvel movie. Or they could build a VR Star Wars experience that lets players fight alongside Jedi and wield actual lightsabers through motion controls.

The potential for Disney IPs like Marvel, Star Wars, Pixar and others is virtually endless in VR. And with Apple's installed base of iPhone and Apple TV users, Disney will have a huge distribution channel for these experiences. Apple's Tim Cook has already touted the Vision Pro as having a "profound impact" on both content creators and viewers.

Of course, producing AAA VR content requires substantial investment. But Apple and Disney's combined resources and expertise make them the ideal collaboration to pioneer VR movie-making. As Apple reimagines the next computing platform, don't be surprised if Disney is their key partner bringing VR versions of their beloved stories to life.
